We came across the Halloween clearance section which was filled with tons of unnecessary items (so of course we looked) for 75% off the marked price. As we looked through the section, B and I decided that much of the clearance items were actually VERY necessary at 75% off.
1. Costumes as dog coats
Of course the clearance section was filled with dog costumes in all sorts of styles and sizes, many of which are made of warm fleece material like the turtle, monkey, hippo, penguin, and lion costumes. It all of a sudden dawned on us-- so what if these are Halloween costumes?! They can double as SUPER cute and warm winter coats! All of the animal costumes were also equipped with hoods which is something that we wish Athena's favorite purple jacket had. The costumes also attach to a dog's body much like many dog coats, with a velcro strap under the belly and one around the neck for easy on and off.

2. Toys to destroy
Dog toys can cost a pretty penny, especially ones that are considered "tough" and meant for power chewers. We have been on the hunt for stuffies that don't actually have any stuffing inside because Athena likes to "kill" her stuffies the minute she gets ahold of them.
The Halloween clearance section at PetSmart was filled with Halloween themed stuffed (and not stuffed) toys all for only $2-$3 each. That's a pretty good price for toys that will probably be ruined in a matter of days (or maybe we will discover an indestructible toy in the bunch?)!
