A Day of Spooky Celebrations

I am totally obsessed with Halloween and I'm so excited that it has finally arrived!  Without further hesitation I would like to say: happy Halloween everyone and a very happy birthday to B!  I just think that it's so cool that his birthday is on Halloween...too bad he doesn't like the holiday as much as I do or I would shower him with Halloween themed gifts =)

Happy Birthday, B from your two favorite girls!
This will be Athena's first Halloween/B's birthday with us.  I am very curious to find out how she will react to the doorbell ringing off the hook when the treat-or-treaters come along this evening.  She's not one to bark at the doorbell, but she does always run to see who's at the door.  Maybe we won't have to take her on an evening walk because she will get all of her exercise by running back and forth between her bed and the door all night?

Can I pweas pass out the candy?
In reality though, I think that we will probably set Athena up with a nice frozen Kong (with pumpkin!) in her crate during the peak trick-or-treating hours because as much as she loves children, I have a feeling that she would be terrified of children in their scary costumes.

If you don't let me pass out the candy I'm going to do my alien-eyed booty shakin' dance to embarrass you!
What do you do with your dogs on Halloween to keep them safe?

Check out more pictures of Athena's Wonder Woman Halloween costume here.

  1. Awww, can she PWEASE help? I love it.

We will have Ray behind a gate but with a kong or bully stick, comfy blanket and mat so he can see the kids if he'd like.

  2. We always start off the evening sitting with the boys outside and letting them see the little kids coming up. Then as it gets darker, we put them in and stay outside. That way the door bell doesn't drive them crazy! Have fun! Happy Halloween!

We set up all of our dogs with frozen kongs on Halloween too! :) It's just easier than trying to keep them off all the kiddos!

  4. Omg I would just die if I knocked a the door and Athena in her wonder woman costume was there! We won't get any trick-or-treaters as my front door is really the gate to the yard, lol. But I think Norman would be a great greeter, Kaya might knock some kids down though:/

    1. Too bad about not getting any trick-or-treaters! I think that Athena would probably be like Kaya and knock a few people down!

  6. I have a confession- the Mr. and I are Halloween Scrooges. We turn off the lights and hide. :) It's just easier with two dogs that bark EVERYTIME someone comes to the door. Hope everyone else enjoys the trick-or-treaters though!

  8. Aww she's so cute in her costume!!! I love her little brindle botty shaking dance! We dont get any trik-or-treaters :( we live in a nice neighborhood with people all around us but we are so rural that it's hard for them to walk to and from houses. Plus most of the kids in our area are older kids. It makes me sad I want them to come to the house. But Kylie's fine with that. She's still not used to people coming over the house.

  9. Most people take their kids into town to trick-or-treat so we didn't get one, but I always get candy because I am hopeful and that way I have something to eat. Hank is a freak when it comes to kids and he's like "OMG are these people here to play with me?", we use to send him outside when people came to the door until he figured out how to climb/jump the fence, now its on the other side of the baby gate.

  10. On Hades' first Halloween with us (we'd only had him a couple weeks,) he did great and we just let him hang back. He didn't used to bark at the door as an only dog, but with two pups when the doorbell rings I just cringe. So now we don't accept trick or treaters! HA. Too chaotic...

  13. 토토 Woah! I'm really enjoying the template/theme of this
blog. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's difficult to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and appearance.
I must say you have done a awesome job with this.
In addition, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Internet
    explorer. Outstanding Blog!
