Athena got a pre-taste of her Thanksgiving Kong when she got to lick the prep bowl! |
With Thanksgiving fast approaching, I have been thinking about the many things that I am thankful for which include family, friends, and good health. I am so happy to also add Athena to my list. This year I am extremely thankful that B and I found Athena. She has helped me more than she will ever know.
Mom, do you think I could be in the Thanksgiving dog show? |
Without her I may not have realized how lucky I am for the things that I have in my life right now. Maybe my life isn't exactly how I pictured it would be at this point in time, but I know that it is what it's suppose to be right now. I may get down on myself for certain things (like not landing a teaching job this year), but I know it's for a reason. Every day Athena helps me to remember that there's a reason for everything, like why my life is the way it is right now.
The reason is her.
Athena and me |
If I would have landed a teaching job this year, I know that I wouldn't have had nearly as much time to devote to Athena. I believe that at this time in her life, Athena really needed someone who could give her all of the time in the world to learn and grow to be the best dog that she can be. She needed me, and I needed her just as much if not more. I needed her unconditional love and loyalty as well as the smile that she brings to my face each and every day when I see her wiggly pittie butt!
I also still love her even though she wraps me up in her leash! |
So with that, I would just like to say how very thankful I am to now have Athena in my life. No matter how many socks she steals from the hamper, or how many tissues she sneaks out of the garbage, I wouldn't trade her for the world.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! |
