Wordless Wednesday: Touch

Athena's been practicing the "touch" command quite a bit recently.  What's a trick that you and your dog have been working on?

  1. I never understood touch, but it has become such an important command with Miss M. We used it to teach her to walk around me, move 'in place' next to where I'm standing--which is especially important for giving space on the sidewalk and posing the pups for photos.

  2. Touch is one of my go-to commands to help focus Ray. We are trying to work on "stay." He has "wait" down pat, but struggles with stay.

  3. We don't use touch, even though we should, right now we're working on proper leash walking since both dogs seems to have forgotten how to do it when other dogs or exciting things are around.

  4. I love how Athena is looking to Brennan as she goes in to touch! :) She is the best!

  7. Oh, Athena is always so beautiful :) I just love this picture! And I love touch too! It was one of the first things mom taught me. Lately we've been working on knowing "left" and "right" (for which side of mom or dad I walk on) and "get dizzy!" (to spin around in a little circle).

  8. I had a hard time with teaching 'touch' and gave up quick. (Sad but true.) I just saw Modified K9 post a video of it and I need to watch and learn more.

  10. I love touch with Kaya, I'll have to start using it to teach her more things. We've been working on a wave when I say "hi!"
